Once the product is in production it is important to monitor the build standard to ensure the manufacturer is consistently supplying product to the original, agreed quality standards and identify faults from an early stage in order to combat the ongoing problem of returns through quality improvement.
This is carried out by:
- New Product Testing - Testing a random quantity in their original gift box and outer carton. Packaging, User Guides and accessories are checked in detail and all cosmetics, functions and capabilities, including for example GAP compatibility, verified. Build quality is also verified through our Teardown analysis against the IPC Standard.
- Returned Product Testing -Testing product returned from the customer through distribution channels can be vital to identify problems and trends.
Again a full suite of functional tests and inspections are undertaken, however, in this case additional data such as 'reason for return' are also taken into consideration.
Various PSTN lines, broadband lines, simulators and test equipment is utilised for this testing as applicable to the product. All problems that are found are verified. A report is produced in an easy to understand format. Digital photographs are included, if applicable, to demonstrate, for example, cosmetic or workmanship issues. New and Returned Product Testing can be particularly important for controlling factory quality and third party manufacturers.
